General
- We are based in Barcelos, Portugal — the heart of Portugal's knitwear manufacturing region, with a long tradition of textile production.
- We work with brands of all sizes. Our MOQ of 300–500 garments (200–300 for accessories) is designed to be accessible to emerging labels as well as established companies.
- Yes. While the EU is our main market (3–5 day delivery), we ship globally. 100% of our production has been exported since 2019.
Products & Capabilities
- Our machines range from 3GG (chunky knitwear) to 16GG (fine gauge). This covers the full spectrum from heavy outerwear to fine polo shirts.
- Yes. We are GOTS (organic), RWS (responsible wool), and GRS (recycled) certified. We regularly produce in organic cotton, recycled polyester blends, and responsibly sourced merino.
- Yes, we work from reference samples, technical specifications, or design sketches. Our technical team will analyse the reference and advise on the best construction approach.
- Absolutely. All our production is B2B — your label, your branding. We do not sell under the Barceltricot name to end consumers.
- Accessories have a slightly lower MOQ: 200–300 units per style. Beanies, scarves, snoods and hats are part of our standard offering.
Ordering & Lead Times
- Contact us via the form with your brief (product type, quantity, fibres, timeline). We'll reply within one business day with initial feasibility and pricing guidance.
- Standard sampling: 2–4 weeks from approved tech pack. Complex constructions may take slightly longer. We'll advise at briefing stage.
- Bulk production takes 5–7 weeks from sample approval and purchase order confirmation. EU delivery adds 3–5 business days.
- We assess rush requests case by case. Priority handling may be possible depending on current production capacity. Contact us to discuss.
Certifications
- GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certifies that fibres are organically grown and that the entire supply chain meets environmental and social criteria. It's the world's leading textile processing standard for organic fibres.
- RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) ensures that wool comes from farms that practice good land management, respect animal welfare, and follow social responsibility principles.
- GRS (Global Recycled Standard) verifies that recycled content claims are accurate and that the production meets social and environmental criteria. Essential for brands targeting circular economy positioning.
- Yes. The Woolmark certification guarantees the quality, purity and performance of pure new wool products. It's recognised by leading fashion brands worldwide as a mark of quality assurance.
